Who is Oncotype DX For?

The Oncotype DX® test was developed for women recently diagnosed with Stage I or II, node-negative, and estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. For these women it provides information on the likelihood that their individual cancer will return as well as how likely they are to benefit from the addition of chemotherapy to hormonal therapy.

A recent study has also shown that Oncotype DX may be informative for post-menopausal women who are recently diagnosed with node-positive, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

Because Oncotype DX was specifically tested in stage I and stage II breast cancer, it is not appropriate for use in women with in situ (ductal carcinoma, lobular carcinoma or pre-cancerous) or late stage (metastatic) breast cancer.

If you have questions about your cancer stage, estrogen receptor status or lymph node status of your tumor, please check with your authorized healthcare provider.
